Welcome to the very first post of our new old blog. We’ve been working over the past week or so to get everything set up, and we’re happy to officially call the blog “live!”
Note: This post originally appeared on our sailing blog, The Bay and Beyond, which now redirects here.
Even though it’s technically still winter, it’s not hard to see that spring is just around the corner. Here in Maryland, we’ve already had a few days in February where the temperature hit 70°F. Given the rapid approach of spring and the start of the sailing season, Ellie and I have decided to give this whole ‘blog’ thing a try–we’re hoping that it will be a fun way to document our adventures through stories, pictures, and videos to share them with family and friends.
In the upcoming weeks, as winter finally comes to an end, we’re planning to publish some background posts about the experiences that brought us to this point in our sailing lives, including the ASA crash-course that we took in Miami, Wednesday night races on the Chesapeake, and buying our boat. As we move into spring, we’ll be documenting our commissioning prep work and finally our maiden voyage!
In the meantime, you can read more about us and about our (old) boat. Be sure to also follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay up-to-date. We really hope you’ll enjoy following our adventures!
